Major patch in Deadlock

Deadlock update: Major changes to Urn mechanics, new T1 item, and survivability adjustments

Last night, the Deadlock developers released a major update aimed at speeding up match pace and increasing macro-game dynamics. In this patch, Valve significantly revised the balance between character survivability and structure durability, and also completely reworked the Soul Urn delivery rules.

General changes

  • Health adjustment: The base health of all heroes has been reduced by 10 HP, and the bonus from obtaining boons is additionally reduced by 3 HP.

  • Structure buff: All defensive objects (Guardians, Shrines and Tier-2 towers) received an additional +10% bullet damage resistance. Breaking through base defenses is now more difficult.

  • Midboss spawn: The time of the first Midboss appearance is shifted to 0:00 — the objective is now available from the first second of the match.

  • Medic creeps mechanic: The behavior of healing orbs has been changed. When picking up multiple orbs, their duration now stacks instead of increasing the amount of health restored per second.

Rework of Urn (Soul Urn) delivery mechanics

  • Lethal timer: After 35 seconds of holding the Urn, its carrier starts losing 5% of their maximum health per second. This damage is lethal.

  • Buff and debuff changes: Silence has been removed from the Urn carrier, but the ban on using mobility abilities and Disarm remain in effect. The +30% resistance bonus while carrying has also been removed.

New item: Grit (T1 Vitality)

  • Active effect: On activation grants a shield of 200 units for 4 seconds.

  • Passive effect: Increases out-of-combat health regeneration by +1.

  • Upgrades: Serves as a basic item for further upgrades into Weapon Shielding, Spirit Shielding or Reactive Barrier.

Mobility and map changes

    • Wall Jump nerf: Stamina regeneration speed is now reduced by 25% for 5 seconds after performing a wall jump.

    • Jungle timing: The spawn time of medium neutral camps has been moved from the 6th to the 5th minute of the match.

KEY HERO CHANGES

Abrams (Nerf)

  • The health regeneration rate from the passive ability Infernal Resilience has been reduced by 15%.

  • Base shotgun damage reduced from 60 to 57 units.

  • This will significantly weaken his dominance in the laning stage and remove his ability to freely trade HP in the early game.

Haze (Nerf)

  • The bonus damage from the passive ability Fixation when firing at a single target now stacks 10% more slowly.

  • The radius of the ultimate ability Bullet Dance is reduced by 2 meters at all levels.

  • Valve continue to cut the late-game potential of the game’s main hyper-carry, making her more dependent on proper team positioning.

Bebop (Adjustment)

  • The range of the Hook ability has been reduced at early levels from 30m to 25m (at max level the range remains unchanged).

  • Fixed a bug where the ultimate Hyper Beam could deal damage through thin geometry corners of buildings.

  • The Hook nerf will make early lane snowballing more difficult, and the ultimate bug fix will deprive the hero of unfair kills through textures.

Vindicta (Nerf)

  • The cooldown of the Flight ability is increased by 4 seconds at the first level.

  • Now an unsuccessful or overly aggressive Flight at an early stage for Vindicta will be punished much more severely due to the long vulnerability window.
